How CarBNP works
Book a parking space for right now or for later, then drive up and get in, often by opening the gate from your phone. Here’s each step for drivers, and how it works if you have a space to rent out.
What is CarBNP?
CarBNP is a marketplace where drivers book private parking spaces from hosts by the hour, day or month, and a parking access control and automation system for car parks. As a driver, you find a space near where you’re going, book it for now or for later, and when you arrive you get in the way the space describes, often by opening the gate from your phone. If you have a garage or a bay that sits empty, you can list it in a few minutes, choose when it’s free and get paid for the hours someone parks there. Large car parks, multi-storey car parks and office garages use CarBNP to run their barriers, bookings and payments without a cashier or a guard. CarBNP is run by CAR BNP LLC.
From your front door to the bay
It works the same on the website and in the app.
See what’s free before you leave
Search the map for where you’re going and you’ll see which spaces are free right now. Planning ahead? Open a space and pick the day and time you need. Open one to check its price, its hours and what it has, and filter for what matters to you, like a covered spot or a charger.
- Covered / garage
- EV charging
- CCTV
- Lighting
- Security guard
- Disabled space
The bay is yours for the time you book
Choose an hour, a day or a month, starting right now or at any time ahead. Once it’s booked, that time is yours. Each host decides which of these they offer.
- Hourly
- For a meeting, a show or an evening out.
- Per day
- For a full working day or a day trip.
- Monthly
- A regular space near home or work. Cancel any time; it runs to the end of the month you’ve paid for.
Pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay
You pay the host’s price plus a small service fee that covers card processing. Stripe handles the payment, so your card details never reach us.
Don’t have an account? Book as a guest with just your email. We’ll send you a 6-digit code to confirm it’s you.
See how pricing worksDrive up and get in
When you arrive, your booking shows the way to your bay and how to get in. Often that’s a tap on Open gate. Each space uses one of these four:
- Gate from the appTap Open gate on your booking while your time is running.
- Access codeThe code is right there on your booking.
- Security guardShow your booking to the guard.
- Open accessThere’s no gate. Follow the host’s directions to the bay.
If you can’t park, you choose what happens next
Someone’s in your bay, the gate won’t open or the bay is blocked? Report it from your booking and pick what suits you. You can move to another bay, wait while the host clears it (we add the lost time back), or get your money back.
The host has 10 minutes to answer. If they confirm the problem, you get a full refund to your wallet or your card. If they don’t answer, small bookings are refunded automatically and our support team looks at the rest. Monthly bookings are settled by support.
What the markers mean
Every space on the map is a P marker. Green means you can book it now, so you know where there’s room before you set off.
- Filled green: free now
- At least one bay is free right now. The small number counts the free bays.
- Hollow grey: taken
- Every bay is booked right now. The list next to the map says when it frees up.
Your empty space can earn while you’re not using it
List it on CarBNP in a few minutes. You choose the price and the hours it’s free, and you get paid for the time drivers park there. CarBNP can also automate an ordinary garage door, so drivers who’ve booked get in without you being there or handing over a key.
How hosting works- List your spaceIt takes about five minutes. Add photos, the address, your bays and schedule, how drivers get in, your prices and features.
